Jason Budzynski, Assistant Remodeling Manager, of TJB Remodeling & Design met future clients
Kent & Cindy Kent and Cindy in March of 2002 at the International
Market Square Home & Design Expo. At that time Kent & Cindy were working with a 3rd party
architect who was in the process of drafting out their project.
Jason was able to meet with Kent & Cindy at their home with the completed plans on May 3rd, 2002.
That day would be the beginning of a long relationship between Remodeler & Client.
From May 3rd through the next few months much planning and redesigning had taken place.
The original plans called for much more remodeling then their budget had anticipated.
But after many meetings and re-pricing the project was looking up.
Jason was able to work out the details conforming to budget, specifications, products
and most of all time schedules, without compromising on the quality.
Then, on September 27, 2002, TJB, Kent & Cindy found the total package.
Jason had succeeded in meeting all challenges facing him; such as how to know when
too much was too much and how to know when the project needed something more.
The project started on time and on budget rather than having to wait to save more money.
The project consisted of a new 12' x 12' dormer addition for a master bath suite,
and complete renovation of the 600 square foot upper level of their one and a half story home.
This level would be used for the master bedroom suite with sitting room. Lower, on the main
level a complete kitchen remodel, including brand new Andersen windows throughout the
home with additional new casing and base trim. Also, new flooring including the
sanding and refinishing of the existing hardwood oak flooring. A full electrical
upgrade, new underground service and 200 amp panel was also added. On the exterior
a new maintenance free deck was built. The only thing that wasn't renovated was the
existing main floor full bath, also known as the (blue bathroom).
TJB Remodeling & Design began the project on October 27th (demolition day) and
finished on time the day agreed upon at the signing of the contract, February 1st, 2003 (move-in day).
When all was said and done a few changes were made and some things added which in
the end added no extra time to the projects deadline. This project, like most
remodeling projects, had a few obstacles along the way. The TJB team was able to
address these challenges during the renovation in a professional and efficient
manner that allowed the project to stay on course and on time.
Dear Future Clients,
When we began our search for a remodeling contractor, we interviewed representatives
from 4 companies. Jason's bid from TJB Remodeling was very competitive and by far
the most detailed. The fact that TJB Homes has been in business for over 20 years and
that they use the same sub-contractors for their remodeling division as they do for their
new construction division assured us their work would be held to high standards and be
completed on schedule. Since we were planning to remodel almost the entire 1st and 2nd
floor with a master bath addition, we felt confident that Jason and TJB Remodeling
would be the best choice and they definitely were!
The project officially began in mid October and was to take three-and-a-half months.
Jason provided us with a calendar detailing milestones (demolition, framing, window
installation, framing inspection, electrical installation, electrical inspection, plumbing,
drywall installation, mudding, painting, tile installation, cabinet installation, staining,
wood floor refinishing, carpet installation, appliance installation, cabinet top installation,
and final inspection) that he and his sub-contractors expected to meet. It also included
time for us to choose kitchen appliances, tile, carpet, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, and
paint selections. Throughout the project Jason and his sub-contractors were professional,
enthusiastic, and extremely helpful. The final inspection was on January 31st, exactly
three-and-a-half months after the project started.
From his many product and structural suggestions to promptly returning our phone calls,
Jason made what could have been a very stressful experience into an exciting project.
We truly love our new home! In fact, we brought TJB Remodeling and their sub-
contractors back this summer to build an ironwood deck and concrete patio. Once again
they did an excellent job.
Jason has asked us to participate in the Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase the
weekend of October 10th - 12th, 2003. If you're thinking about remodeling, this would be
a great opportunity to see TJB Remodeling's quality craftsmanship and maybe even get a
few ideas for your own home. We are so happy with all of their work and would highly
recommend them for any remodeling project you may have in the near future.
Did we mention that we love our "new" home?!
Sincerely,
Kent and Cindy
